Movie: A Bronx Tale (1993)

Tagline: One man lives in the neighborhood, another man owns it. A devoted father battles the local crime boss for the life of his son.
Trivia: Casting scouts searched around New York City and Long Island for a teenager to play the role of Calogero. A scout noticed Lillo Brancato on Jones Beach. For most of his childhood, Brancato had done impersonations of Robert De Niro and was often told that he resembled De Niro. When he performed an impersonation for the scout, she immediately cast him.
Goofs: Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): When "C" and Jane are walking home together and Jane pronounces "C's" entire name she says his first name Calogero as well as his last name Anello but he never told her his last name he only told her his first name when they met.
"Gangster Sonny is the big man in Calogero's Bronx neighborhood. A shooting witnessed by Calogero is the starting point of a lasting bond between the gangster and the small boy. Father (bus driver Lorenzo), however, disap- proves. Calogero grows up under the wings of both men, torn between his own natural honesty and his fascination with Sonny. C's neighborhood cronies get involved in theft, use of guns, racial fights. When C meets girl, things don't become easier. C's leap to manhood is marked by tragedy, but also by his recognition of the many faces of love. Written by Horacio Abeledo <horabe@ipcabe.uba.ar>"
