Trivia: Both Adam Walinsky and James Tolan wore PT-109 tie clasps given to them by Robert F. Kennedy during their interviews.

"It was April 4, 1968. At 6:01 p.m., across the street from the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, a gunman fired a rifle-and the leader of the civil rights movement, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., lay mortally wounded. As news of King's assassination spread, American cities were engulfed in chaos and fear. Urban areas erupted in riots. Fires burned out of control. Dozens of people were killed. Robert F. Kennedy, meanwhile, was en route to Indianapolis, where at 9 p.m. he was scheduled to make a campaign appearance in an African-American neighborhood. Pressing questions arose: Should Kennedy venture into the heart of the Indianapolis inner city and talk to the potentially volatile crowd gathered in a park? What could he say that would assuage their grief? Should he defy the Indianapolis city officials who ordered him to stay away? Would his life be in danger? Kennedy didn't blink. Despite the violence raging across the country, he courageously kept his promise to speak, climbing up on a shaky flatbed truck and delivering a moving, extemporaneous plea for peace and reconciliation-a talk that eventually would be regarded as one of the great political speeches of the twentieth century. A Ripple of Hope draws on interviews with Kennedy aides and associates, as well as "everyday people" who were in the crowd that night, to tell the story of an inspiring moment in American history. This movie has had this kind of an emotional force lying on me, I think it’s challenging to write down commentary about it. I’ve read lots of any prior comments. A large amount have gotten fine points to make, yet the thing that I believe most are struggling to both explicate and come to terms which is simply why this motion picture is SO loved. Cherished to the level that for many it can be an nearly spiritual experience or for those of a more secular life like myself, cherished as probably the most devastatingly inspiring things which may occur to you whilst watching a ..

So I’m not gonna review A Ripple of Hope, I’m just going to battle in my very own way to explain this film. It took me several viewings to get why I attach with it so deeply, but here it goes.

Many of us in this world are depressed. Most of the people in this world don’t want to be depressed. Tons of individuals hope, pray and particularly hope for that magical stick to wave and clean them of their doubts, deficits, angers and suffering once and for always. They set eyes on plenty of other people seemingly on that magical situation, whilst they suffer. To make use of the words of a different film, they are watching the bluebirds fleeting over the rainbow.

A lot of depressed people have learned the enchanting stick doesn’t exist. They don’t seem to be destined to join the bluebirds or fairytales don’t come real. It is not that no one lives happily ever after, it truly is just that they’re not going to. They’re busy dying. But hopefully this movie shall make them feel good…
